CARTAGENA WEEKEND GETAWAYS
The colonial jewel of the Colombian Caribbean
The Destination
Why CARTAGENA WEEKEND GETAWAYS
Cartagena de Indias is possibly the most seductive city in the Caribbean: a 16th-century walled city, a World Heritage Site, where bougainvillea-covered balconies overlook cobblestone streets and plazas bursting with music, history, and flavor.
For the charter traveler, Cartagena is the perfect getaway: a direct flight from Toronto or Miami, landing at a modern airport 10 minutes from the historic center, and a weekend among private villas in the Walled City, dining at restaurants favored by Gabriel García Márquez, and sailing to the Rosario Islands the next day.

Charter Advantage
Why It Is Exclusive to Charter
What only private flight allows
Cartagena combines like few cities in the world: colonial history, Caribbean beaches, international-level gastronomy, and a vibrant nightlife — all within a 15-kilometer radius. A weekend is enough to experience it all.
Rafael Núñez Airport (CTG) is within the city, minutes from the old town. No commercial airline offers direct flights from Canada; charter saves you 6-8 hours of connections and lets you make the most of every hour of your getaway.
The Rosario Islands, 45 minutes by boat, offer coral reefs and private beaches accessible only by sea or air. Many of our clients combine Cartagena with a short flight to these islands in the same trip.

Curiosities
Fascinating facts about Walled City, Cartagena
The unconquerable fortress
Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas was never conquered. The British attempted it in 1741 with a fleet of 186 ships and 23,600 men — and failed. It is the largest colonial fortress built by Spain in the Americas.
The submerged wall
Cartagena has 11 kilometers of walls built over 200 years. Most fascinating: part of the foundations are under the sea, built with live coral extracted from nearby reefs.
Gabriel García Márquez
The Colombian Nobel laureate lived in Cartagena and set several of his works here. La Vitrola, the restaurant where he regularly dined, remains open in the Old Town.
The chivas rumberas
The colorful open buses called "chivas" originated in Cartagena. Today they are the most iconic way to tour the city at night, with live music and rum on board.
